MC’s Song Of The Week #5: “Lose Yourself” by Eminem

Hello, I’m MusiCommentator, and last week, I released my 100th post, Every Eminem Album RANKED (Worst to Best).  I had a lot of fun making it, as I got to talk about some of my favorite Eminem songs.  However, I didn’t get to talk about my favorite track from him: “Lose Yourself”.  So, I’m going to talk about it now!

I know it’s pretty basic for me to say this is my favorite Eminem song, because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t think this is their favorite Eminem song?  Well, there are plenty of reasons that everyone likes this song so much!  Eminem’s flow on it is impeccable.  He’s able to pack so many rhymes while sounding nonchalant throughout the whole song, showing off his lyrical techniques without distracting you from the story.  The story, too, is another great aspect of the song, as it shows his raw determination to do his absolute best so he can make it big in the world.  This makes it pretty easy to believe that this is the second-most-streamed workout song on Spotify (with the first being another Eminem song, “Till I Collapse”).  The beat helps bring this empowering strength that the lyrics provide, as the crunchy guitars and bass-y kick drums add to the tension that leads to the epic hook.  This song has gotten plenty of praises from everyone at this point, if you haven’t listened to this track, I would advise that you listen to it right now and see what you’ve been missing out on!

Thank you for reading my fifth “Song Of The Week”!  If you liked this post, make sure to follow my website, Twitter, and Instagram, like this post, and be sure to check in soon for future content.  Also, if you have something you want to see me review, tell me in the comments.  Until then, keep on listening to good music! I know I will.

  1. I think you are right. Everyone believes this is their favourite Eminem song. I remember me and my brother trying to sing it several times, but we simply could not.
